The ITS Supervisor, Reporting and Business Intelligence, will be responsible for supervising a professional work team within the reporting and business intelligence area of ITS. The team supports medical faculty, clinical and administrative staff and administrative support in patient care, business and administration, and teaching and research activities. The incumbent will ensure the effective operation of the team and is accountable for the successful completion of all projects assigned to the work group. He/she will plan, organize, assign, schedule and control work flow for the team.

The ITS Supervisor, Reporting and Business Intelligence, will serve as team leader in the functioning of the Reporting and Business Intelligence team within Information. The Supervisor will assist in the development of policies and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the team and will be an active participant in team and departmental planning.

In addition to staff supervision, the ITS Supervisor, Reporting and Business Intelligence, will function as an expert resource in advanced reporting and analytical capabilities for lower level staff and users to assist in complex problem troubleshooting and resolution. The Supervisor will coordinate all projects by assigning sections to lower level staff or assigning entire projects to Senior level staff. He/she will ensure that all subordinate staff members receive the necessary training to function at their assigned level.

At this level, the ITS Supervisor, Reporting and Business Intelligence, has proven the ability to consistently perform at an exceptional level. The incumbent must independently work with users to determine analytical requirements, process re-engineering issues as they relate to reporting and analysis, and application design and implementation strategies. In addition, work at this level involves justifying system design and concepts to users. The Supervisor is expected to possess organizational skills that lead to the effective management of projects, applications and employees. These skills include: analysis, problem definition and solution, conflict resolution, team/project management, planning and consulting. Excellent communication skills are crucial to successful performance in this position. This position requires the ability to independently evaluate and analyze subject matter and develop specifications to create or enhance functions.

Problems encountered are of a high degree of complexity and difficulty and require exceptional analytical skills, innovation and creativity necessary to formulate and implement the mechanisms to identify and solve problems.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, related field, or equivalent combination of education or experience required. 2. Master's degree preferred. 3. Minimum of five to seven years progressively responsible work experience including significant project management experience and/or similar experience in related field and/or accelerated exceptional performance required. 4. Experience supervising staff strongly preferred. 5. Experience supporting clinical and ancillary systems in a 24x7 hospital setting preferred. 6. Certification in Epic Clarity data model. 7. Certification in Epic software applications. 8. Excellent communication, problem-solving and organizational abilities. 9. Ability to work independently and be result oriented. 10. Strong analytical skills. 11. Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal presentation. 12. Capable of interacting with all levels of staff. 13. Ability to provide leadership and promote teamwork. 14. Effective interpersonal skills. 15. Consultative approach to working with users in assessing needs and requirements. 16. 18. Physical Requirements: Sedentary - Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.

Pay

This is a Non-Represented position and falls into Pay Grade 9. The salary range begins at $62,130 per year. Education, experience, tenure and internal equity may be taken into consideration when job offers are extended.

Work Schedule

Mnoday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
