Working collaboratively with nursing and medical staff under the direction of Nursing Administration. The following are the NNP primary responsibilities: Attend all deliveries Stabilize and manage infants requiring transfer for tertiary services in collaboration with pediatric, family practice and neonatal staff physicians Identify potential neonatal risk factors in women admitted to the OB unit Provide appropriate neonatal screening for atâ€"risk infants in collaboration with pediatric and family practice staff physicians Provide procedural support: intubation umbilical catheter insertion intravenous catheter insertion venipuncture arterial puncture spinal tap needle aspiration of pneumothorax chest tube placement bladder tap Provide educational support to the nursing and respiratory therapy staff related to neonatal care Provide educational support to parents and families of neonates Provide support to the newborn followâ€"up program as needed Develop policy and procedural support to the nursing department Provides support to patients on the Pediatric unit and Emergency Room as appropriate.
General Qualifications Completion of an accredited Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program. Desired Qualifications Experience in a level 3 NICU in addition to level 2 strongly preferred.
