The Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI) is a nonprofit agency assisting individuals with special needs and ! other barriers to achievement, and their families, to better live and work in our community. Affiliates include New Health Services, TLS Behavioral Health and the School for Early Development & Achievement. MCFI is a community resource with more than 50 programs and services for children, teens, adults and older adults .

Nature of Work :
This certified nursing assistant (CNA) position is a float position that will provide cares to any of the Milwaukee Center for Independence day programs. These programs include working with the elderly, developmentally disabled and pediatric populations. This position requires professional flexibility to support the consumer's program needs including feeding, toileting, bathing, assist in loading and unloading onto buses and vans, documentation of data to support the program and duties as assigned. This position performs nurse delegated duties or receives direction from clinical coordinators.

Required Qualifi! cations:
1. Minimum of a GED or high school diploma
2. Inclusion in the State of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Registry

3. Current CPR card

4. Minimum of one year experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and physical disabilities.

5. Minimum of one year experience working with persons with Alzheimer’s or dementia.

Scheduling Requirements:
1. Must be able to work one full shift (7:00 am to 5:30 pm) at least one weekday (Monday through Friday) per week

2. Must provide availability schedule on a month to month basis

3. Must be available to work last minute/call in/day of shifts at least once per week

Physical Demands:
1. On occasion must be able to push/pull/lift/move objects weighting at least 50 pounds and over 100 pounds.

2. Must be able to safely push a person in a wheelchair on a level floor or on a wheelchair ramp in various weather conditions.

3. Must be able to transfer a person from ! a wheelchair to the toilet, chair, or van seat/car with use of a gait belt.
