Certified Surgical Technician

Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin

Description: Gundersen Health System is employing Certified Surgical Technician right now, this vacancy will be presented in Wisconsin. Assist RN in performing circulating duties as directed. Functions under direct supervision of a circulating nurse! and physician. Display understanding of anatomy and physiology, the pathological condition affecting the patient, the planned operative procedure and consider any variations that may be necessary to meet the needs of a specific patient. Patient population to include neonate, pediatric, adult, and geriatric. Good interpersonal and analytical skills. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to 80% of work time when performing technical tasks and anticipating surgeon's needs.

Education/Learning Experience :

• Required: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program and/or practical nursing program.

Work Experience :

• Desired: 1-2 years.

Skills/Knowledge :

• Required: Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and ability to observe and practice proper sterile techniques.

Licensures/Certifications :

• Required: Certif! ication in Surgical Technology (CST) within two years of hire ! date or current Wisconsin LPN License. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR certification or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer CPR certification.

Physical Requirements/Demands of the Position :
Frequent lifting of 25-50lbs. Standing, squatting, and bending. Push/pull 50-75lbs. Fine motor skills, gross motor skills. Operation of sterilization equipment, operation of pneumatic and electric equipment.
