The Milwaukee Center for Independence (MCFI) is a nonprofit agency assisting individuals with spe! cial needs and other barriers, to live and work successfully in their communities. MCFI affiliates include New Health Services, the School for Early Development & Achievement and TLS Behavioral Health. We are proud of a continuum of services that provides over 50 programs â€" for children through seniors â€" designed to meet the unique needs of people served.
MCFI has a part-time split shift Driver position open in our Pediatric Skilled Nursing program. You will be safely operating a vehicle (van or minibus) transporting kids with special medical needs to and from our facility at 2020 W. Wells Street in Milwaukee. Our driver training includes Defensive Driving, First Aid, CPR and additional training as needed. The general job duties relating to vehicle operation are primarily performed outdoors.
Requirements
Must have a verifiable past work history providing passenger transportation
Possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with an acc! eptable driving record (as deemed appropriate by the MCFI liab! ility insurance carrier and the PSN administrative staff)
Pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test and background check
Ability to occasionally stoop and bend while being able to lift, pull or push up to 40 pounds
Able to respond to emergency situations as required in accordance with training received
Accurately communicate PSN Participant or parent/caregiver concerns to designated PSN staff
Ability to read and understand a map of the PSN service area (Milwaukee County)
Ability to speak and write in a clear and concise manner
Ability to exercise sound judgment in an emergency situation
Present a positive public image of the PSN Program and MCFI
Maintain a high level of PSN Participant and parent/caregiver confidentiality
Minimum high school diploma or GED with post high-school education preferred
Ability to push, pull, lift and carry up to 50 lbs
