Examines, tests, diagnoses, plans and implements complex treatment programs for pediatric inpatients and outpatients with communication disorders and/or feeding difficulties. Included are developmental speech/language disorders which may or may not have a medically-based etiology, communication problems due to hear! ing loss, congenital or acquired neurological disorders, fluen! cy problems, difficulty with social use of language and providing alternative or augmentative communication systems to the non-vocal population. Counsels and instructs patients/families and medical professionals involved with the patient in rehabilitative needs, monitors patient progress, ensures that recommendations are followed, and maintains clinical records according to established procedures.
Background in the areas of child development, speech/language development, audiology, speech disorders (functional and organic), language impairments, neuropathology and anatomy and physiology as acquired through completion of a Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology. Current licensure with the State of Wisconsin.
